Installation
Pick your OS below. Each has one copy-paste command.
Windows#
choco install zirvmacOS#
brew tap glubiz/homebrew-tap
brew install zirvIf Homebrew reports the tap as untrusted, run
brew trust glubiz/tapand retry.
The published binary is universal (Intel and Apple Silicon), so this works on either Mac.
Linux & macOS#
Recommended — install script (works on both Linux x86_64 and macOS Intel/Apple Silicon):
curl -sSfL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Glubiz/zirv-cli/main/install.sh | shTo install a specific version:
curl -sSfL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Glubiz/zirv-cli/main/install.sh | sh -s -- <version>Package Manager Detection#
If the script detects a Homebrew-managed zirv installation, it refuses to overwrite it by default with a message recommending brew upgrade zirv instead. To override this safety check and force an installation (not recommended), set ZIRV_INSTALL_FORCE=1:
ZIRV_INSTALL_FORCE=1 curl -sSfL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Glubiz/zirv-cli/main/install.sh | shPATH Shadowing Warning#
After a successful install, the script checks whether the just-installed binary is the one found on your $PATH. If not—for example, because /opt/homebrew/bin appears before /usr/local/bin on Apple Silicon—it warns you to ensure the install directory comes first in your PATH.
Alternative — Homebrew on Linux, via the same tap:
brew tap glubiz/homebrew-tap
brew install zirvIf Homebrew reports the tap as untrusted, run
brew trust glubiz/tapand retry.
The prebuilt Linux release is x86_64-only. On other architectures (aarch64, armv7, ...) the install script fails fast with a pointer to the source build; the Homebrew formula does not guard the architecture, so skip it there and build from source instead (see below). Releases up to 2.39.0 additionally require glibc 2.39+; from 2.39.1 the Linux binary is fully static.
From source (any platform/arch)#
cargo install --git https://github.com/Glubiz/zirv-cliWorks today without a crates.io publish, and is the only supported path on architectures the release pipeline doesn't build for (e.g. Linux aarch64).
